Travel to Wilmington, NC
Kayak from Trails End Park boat launch, across the intracoastal waterway, to Masonboro Island through a channel to the back side of the island. Pull up the boats onto shore, and walk through a short trail to the oceanfront side of the island to set up camp.
Camping is primitive, so bring everything you need, including water, food, tent (make sure it's a stable tent for potential overnight storms and wind), sleeping system, clothing, toiletries, etc. We practice "Leave No Trace" principles, so everything you bring needs to be packed out when we leave. There are NO restroom facilities, running water, or any other man-made facilities on the island.
Return to Trails End Park at high tide.
Note: Kayaking needs to take place at or near high tide to get through the channel on the intracoastal waterway side of the island, so event start and end times will be dependent on the tide schedule.
