Uwharrie National Forest

Thru-Hike through the Uwharrie National Forest 

This event is NOT organized by Mid Atlantic Touring, and is just being posted here to share the information with the group.

The Three Rivers Land Trust organization hosts a thru-hike of the Uwharrie Trail (in the Uwharrie National Forest, just southwest of Ashboro, North Carolina) twice a year - spring and fall. 

The hike is approximately 40+ miles over 4 days of hiking, with camping in designated primitive campgrounds along the way. The registration fee was $150 in 2024, which may vary per each event. In the past, the fee has included filtered water, snacks, clean camp amenities, a large cookout the last night, a commemorative tee shirt, and a one-year membership to Three Rivers Land Trust.
